Chivukuvuku reappears after quarantine and again uses 'lead' to PRA-JA

The politician Abel Chivukuvuku said this weekend, in Luanda, that the current sanitary condition demands of all citizens the rigorous and scrupulous compliance with the rules established by the competent entities to fight the new coronavirus.

Abel Chivukuvuku, who completed a quarantine period after returning, on 17 March, from a trip to Portugal, recognized the opportunity of declaring a state of emergency, twice extended, to contain covid-19, a disease that has already caused two deaths in the country, among 27 positive cases, of which seven recovered.

"We renew our solidarity with public institutions at this critical stage that the world in general and our country in particular is going through and which requires unity and collaboration from all actors," he said.

The politician, who was speaking on the sidelines of a meeting of the interim coordination of the PRA-JA Servir Angola formation, which he leads, underlined that the survey of the sanitary fence in 17 provinces of the country will provide some resumption of economic and social activity, “crucial for the national life ”.

"Despite this survey, it is recommended that all citizens abide by social distance, hygiene and biosafety rules", said Abel Chivukuvuku, stressing that "the sacrifices that this implies are inferior to the greatness and nobility of the greater good".

At the end of the meeting, the provisional coordination of PRA-JA Servir Angola announced that it will appeal to the plenary of the Constitutional Court to analyze the process of legalizing the political project, which was rejected for the second time.

The position is contained in a statement that emerged from a meeting of the ‘ad-hoc task force’ of the PRA-JA Servir Angola installation commission, led by Abel Chivukuvuku, who considers the Constitutional Court order an obstacle to the emergence of the new political formation.

In the declaration, read by Abel Chivukuvuku, the Constitutional Court's allegations are considered “a set of falsehoods”, “which constitute a mere merciless, anti-democratic and cruel political persecution of a group of citizens who only seek to exercise their rights enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic. of Angola ”.

At stake is the process for legalizing the Angolan Renaissance Party - Together for Angola - Serving Angola (PRA-JA - Servir Angola), ongoing since November 2019, when it sent 23,492 signatures to the court, of which 19 thousand were rejected , with several justifications, including minority and lack of authenticity of the residence certificates.

“They blamed the administrations, for everything that is chanting. This time, we sent 8000 and such declarations from underwriters, of which more than 4000 with notary recognition and, again, the court disqualifies the municipal administrations, does not recognize the role of notaries in the Republic of Angola, and recognized about 2000 declarations ” , said Abel Chivukuvuku.

The politician stated that “all of this is fallacious”, adding that “fortunately” there is a copy of the entire process.

“Fortunately, the law still allows us to appeal to the plenary and the plenary, from a personal point of view, will not be the same actors. That is why we hope that there will be good faith in the other actors in the plenary, we have already sent the cases during the supply phase [of the signatures], [and now] we are going to refer to the plenary so that it can make an assessment ”, he said.

The former leader of CASA-CE said that, in parallel, the documents will be published “for any citizen to go and see”.

Abel Chivukuvuku stressed that, this time, care was taken to make a copy of the documents, because the first time “everything was handed over, in good faith, to the Constitutional Court”.

"And when they failed, we asked them to give us back and they didn't give us back, because they know they had proof of guilt," he said.
