Council of Ministers creates unit to monitor public investments

The Council of Ministers approved this Wednesday the creation of a monitoring and follow-up unit of projects of the executive to support the decision-making process, according to a statement to which Lusa had access.

"This is a specialised unit to support the holder of executive power, which is responsible for monitoring structuring projects or projects with special national or local impact, through a system for collecting, compiling and organising information to support the decision-making process", states the document.

In the meeting that took place this Wednesday in Talatona, under the guidance of the President, João Lourenço, the regulation of the Law on the Legal Regime of Foreign Citizens was also approved.

The new regime brings changes regarding the entry and exit of foreigners, control of their activities in national territory, issuing of visas abroad and in national territory, extension of stay, right to family reunification and granting and renewal of residence permit.

The Council of Ministers has also examined, for submission to the National Assembly, the draft law on sending military and paramilitary contingents abroad, as well as other foreign policy diplomas.

Among these are the draft resolutions relating to the accession of Angola to the Convention for the Settlement of Investment Disputes between States and Nationals of Other States, the Protocol on Industry of the Southern African Development Community, and the Memorandum of Understanding with Zambia in the field of Migration, as well as other instruments of an executive nature.
