The provincial government of Bengo, in a brief note released this Thursday and to which VerAngola had access, stated that the final details for the start of the event were already a fact.
"The 12 municipalities that make up the province of Bengo and other exhibitors are already accommodated at the venue", it added.
Hundreds of visitors are expected during the three days of the fair, which will have more than 250 exhibitors.
Regarding the preparations, Bartolomeu Pedro, vice-governor of Bengo for the Political, Economic and Social Sector and also coordinator of the event, said that they are progressing satisfactorily so that the event surpasses the previous edition.
The official, in statements to the press, cited by Angop, informed that the transport operators will ensure the transport of products from the municipalities to the fair grounds and will carry out several trips over the three days of the event.
Bartolomeu Pedro also mentioned that the provincial government is considering the creation of more fairs or places where producers can sell their products on a permanent basis, without having to rely solely on the banana fair.
According to the official, farmers have been complaining about the difficulties in selling their products: "We have received many complaints from farmers in the municipalities who produce a lot, but have little possibility of selling and selling them", he said.
According to Angop, the run-up to the fair was very busy, with municipal administrators monitoring the assembly of stands, the organisation installing the stage that will host the opening ceremony, lectures and shows, among other necessary preparations.
The fair opened its doors on Friday morning, in a ceremony that was expected to be attended by the provincial governor of Bengo, Maria Antónia Nelumba, as well as other entities.
