“From Angola to the World”: 100 Angolan artists exhibit at the debut of an art fair in the capital

A hundred national artists will show their work in the first edition of an art fair. Under the theme “From Angola to the World”, the fair will take place between the 19th and 21st of this month, in Luanda.

:

Held by artistic events producer Maia Tanner, the fair, called "Africell Luanda Feira de Arte/Art Fair Luanda" aims to promote cultural tourism in the country, formalize the work of visual artists, as well as encourage the consumption of works made in the country, says a statement sent to VerAngola.

The event "will feature five exhibiting galleries, representing and directly showing high quality art by around 100 Angolan artists, a solo exhibition, live art and a program of conversations".

In addition, the fair will also offer "a platform for artists through galleries, collectors, curators, critics and journalists in Luanda to formalize, add value and create meaningful connections at the forefront of contemporary art" in the country.

In addition to the works that will be "exhibited and rotated by the galleries The Art Affair, ELA-Espaço Luanda Arte, Sky Gallery Espaço D'Arte, Tamar Golan and This Is Not A White Cube", there will also be a solo exhibition by the artist Angolan Maria Belmira.

Within the scope of the event, more than 40 moderators and panel members from the world of arts will show and discuss relevant subjects related to art, such as "The Challenges of Galleries in Angola, The Need for an Art Museum, Formalization of artistic work for national economy, Women in Art in Angola", among others, adds the note.

The fair will take place between the 19th and 21st of April, at Palácio de Ferro.
