Hélder Pitta Grós: "So far the PGR has not received any list" about angolans' fortunes in Portugal

Hélder Pitta Grós, Attorney General of the Republic (PGR), denied having received the list with the fortunes of Angolans in Portugal. The reaction comes after the Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã had advanced that Portugal had already and the document to Angola.

"To date the OPG has not received any list with this content," the prosecutor told Jornal de Angola.

The PGR also admitted that the country has relied on Portugal's "occasional cooperation and collaboration" "in specific cases. For this reason, "it is frequent" that they go "to Portugal and other countries in the scope of the mentioned cooperation.

The Portuguese weekly newspaper reported that the list with the fortunes of several Angolan personalities had been delivered by the Central Department of Investigation and Penal Action to a judicial official of the Angolan Attorney General's Office.

According to Correio da Manhã, the document is composed of more than 7,000 pages detailing the bank accounts, investments, real estate and stakes in companies of several Angolan figures, including the dos Santos siblings (Isabel dos Santos, Tchizé dos Santos and Zenú dos Santos), as well as the former head of the military house, Manuel Hélder Vieira Dias, and the former head of Angolan intelligence, Leopoldino Fragoso do Nascimento.
