Of all the previous editions, this is the first time that the festival is held in Central Africa, reports Angop.
"Arts, culture and heritage: levers for building the Africa we want" is the theme of the festival, which will count with the presence of artists from several countries, including Angola, Cameroon, Chad, Congo, Gabon and Democratic Republic of Congo.
Jerónimo Belo, in declarations to Angop, highlighted that in the list of artists that will be present in the festival are the names of Filipe Mukenga, Anabela Aya, Sam Mangwana, Mitchel Long, Catarina dos Santos, Chico Pinheiro, Esperança Mirakiza, Totó, Ricardo Lemvo, Yamandu Costa, Luiz Guerreiro, As Marias, among others.
The responsible highlighted that the musicians hope that the festival will help to increase the promotion of this musical style in radios and newspapers.
About the presence of jazz in Angola, Jerónimo Belo considered that it is still not very expressive, but that it walks with "great determination".
The festival will also pay tribute to Angolan musician Waldemar Bastos, who died last year, writes Platinaline.
