Covid-19: Oil companies with no impact on operations, production remains “stable”

The Italian ENI said that, so far, it has not registered “any impact” of the pandemic caused by the coronavirus that caused Covid-19 in its production in Angola, which remains “stable”.

According to the company, from the beginning of the emergency, all necessary measures to protect the health of its personnel were promptly implemented.

“ENI constantly monitors the evolution of the epidemic, in order to continue guaranteeing its employees all the appropriate measures for their maximum protection”, says the Italian oil company, adding that “so far, there is no ENI employee in Angola, regardless of nationality, neither in quarantine nor as a suspicious case ”.

Similar information was transmitted by the British BP, who said that the operations and production in Angola were not affected by the current travel restrictions and “run within normal limits”.

Following the guidance of the Ministry of Health, the company launched some preventive measures.

The French company Total referred any clarification to the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Petroleum, the sector's supervisory body.

In turn, the National Oil and Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG) of Angola said that it is still assessing the impact of the coronavirus epidemic and all its surroundings.

The government banned the entry of foreign nationals from China, South Korea, Iran and Italy, and last week admitted to "expanding or reducing" the list as the pandemic evolved.
