"The Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas (Mirempet), representing the Republic of Angola, organizes, on February 22, 2022, in the United Arab Emirates, the Investment Forum for the Diamond Development Pole of Saurimo - DUBAI 2022 , aiming to attract potential investors to the diamond cutting and cutting segment in Angola", reads a note made available on the guardianship website.
To be promoted by Sodiam and with the support of the New Jeweler International Media Group, the event aims to "appreciate the investment made in the construction of the infrastructures of the Diamond Development Pole of Saurimo (PDDS)", but also "to fulfill the intention of the Government of Angola, in the short and medium term, to increase the cutting of rough diamonds produced in the country, from a total of nine million carats per year".
Angola mainly intends to attract investors specialized in the diamond cutting and polishing activity to the country, who create factories in the PDDS, taking advantage of the "turntable that is Dubai" to communicate about the opportunities generated with that infrastructure in operation since the year spent in the diamond province of Lunda Sul.
The ministry also mentions that the intention is to bring together up to 100 participants, in person, including investors in diamond appraisal, cutting and cutting, experts in the polished diamond market, among others.
It is recalled that the Saurimo Diamond Development Center was inaugurated last year and currently comprises three cutting factories, a training center in diamond assessment and cutting and a professional training center at Endiama.
