In a statement sent to VerAngola, Sodiam informed that "it has finalized the process of evaluating expressions of interest, from national and international companies, launched on May 20, 2021, for specialized services of Acidification of Diamonds and Auctions (Tenders) that represent important services for the future Angolan Diamond Exchange".
First Element and Trans Atlantic Gems Sales were the companies chosen: First Element for the Diamond Acidification Unit and Trans Atlantic Gems Sales for the Diamond Auctions.
According to the note, proposals were received from national companies and from several internationally recognized companies operating in markets in South Africa, Belgium, the United Arab Emirates, the United States of America and Israel.
This procedure "reinforces the commitment of Angola and Sodiam with transparency in the scope of the reforms that are underway in the diamond subsector, as well as in the introduction of new dynamics, functionalities and technologies, with international excellence standards, which will add value to the diamond trading system through the future Angola Diamond Exchange", considered Eugénio Bravo da Rosa, chairman of the board of directors of Sodiam.
