According to a statement from the authority, quoted by Angop, the act, which was initially scheduled to take place on 31 January, will take place at Lobito Central Station.
In the note, the ministry recalls that the tender in question was launched on the 8th of September of last year, "with the aim of guaranteeing the economic viability of the railway infrastructure from Lobito to Luau, in compliance with the rules of the contract, the parts of the competition and international best practices".
The statement also mentions that with this award the Government intends to design a private capital company – a Special Purpose Company (SPE) – to which the costs of operating, operating and maintaining the infrastructure will be conferred.
In addition, the Executive also aims to boost the economy of railway infrastructure as well as stimulate provincial economies, to provide new jobs.
The concession will also make it possible to carry out goods transport services on the Lobito/Luau branch, among others.
