According to a statement from the provincial government of Benguela, the North American President arrived in Benguela this Wednesday morning.
"At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Angola, João Lourenço, the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, arrived in Benguela on the morning of this Wednesday, December 4th, for a few hours' visit to this province", reads up in the note.
Upon his arrival, Biden was received by his counterpart João Lourenço.
Biden's agenda in this province includes a visit to the Lobito Port Terminal and the Carrinho Food Processing Factory.
In addition, Joe Biden will also join his counterparts from Angola, DRC and Zambia and the vice president of Tanzania to participate in the multilateral summit on the Lobito Corridor.
"In this part of Angola are the Presidents of the USA, Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia and the Vice-President of Tanzania, immersed in the process of consolidating the railway link that aims to connect the western and eastern coasts of the continent African, to more easily ensure the circulation of goods between the Atlantic and the Indian Ocean, with expansion throughout the world", points out the note from the provincial government.
This summit will allow discussing topics related to the development and expansion of the aforementioned corridor, as well as strengthening climate security and the transition to renewable energy.
Remember that the North American President has been in Angola since Monday on a state visit.
