According to a communiqué from the Angolan embassy in Abu Dhabi, to which VerAngola had access, the national loser is holding several meetings, including with Abu Dhabi Airports and Abu Dhabi Ports, seeking to complete the initialed documents last year between the two countries.

"The Angolan official and the members of the delegation are holding several meetings, including with Abu Dhabi Airports and Abu Dhabi Ports, with a view to materializing the documents signed last year between the Government of Angola and the United Arab Emirates", reads in the note.

According to the statement, the memorandums signed comprised "one for cooperation and exploration of opportunities in the most varied sectors and another for cooperation in the transport sector".

The holder of the Transport portfolio, quoted in the note, said that they are on the "good path" and that they have a "strategic partnership with business entities, but also" with the UAE government in the maritime, port and air domains.

"We are on the right path. We have a strategic partnership with business entities, but also with the Government of the United Arab Emirates in the maritime, port and air sectors. We believe that these are useful and important partnerships for contributing to our development", said the minister, after a courtesy meeting with the Angolan ambassador to the UAE, Albino Malungo, which took place this Thursday, December 15, at the Chancellery in Abu Dhabi.

The note also mentions that, "in the scope of the strategic cooperation agreements between Abu Dhabi Ports and the Regulatory Agency for Cargo and Logistics Certification in Angola (ARCCLA), the implementation of the Single Window for Logistics (JUL) is planned".

In terms of airports, the country "will be able to gather experiences in terms of management due to the entry into operation of the new Abu Dhabi International Airport", which, according to Ricardo D'Abreu, will be an opportunity for the country, considering the "reliability" at Luanda's new airport, which will start next year.

According to the statement, part of the projects presented to UAE entities by the Ministry of Transport, mainly with regard to the participation of Abu Dhabi Ports, "Porto Caio/Cabinda, Barra do Dande, Projecto do Luvo, Platform Caála Logistics and the Railways that connect Angola to other countries in the region, the training of Angolan staff in the field of maritime transport, goods, logistics, among others".

The entities of Abu Dhabi Ports, adds the note, have underlined that Angola is a "quite attractive" country and "there are numerous advantages, namely its geographical location and importance in the southern region of Africa".
