"Angolans who are over 60 years old will be able to share experiences with younger people, have a more active and integrated life in the community through the 'Machimbombo Dikota', a bus that will travel through all the municipalities of the capital Luanda, in a first phase" , reads a note from CIPRA, which VerAngola had access to.

According to the statement, the first lady's initiative was launched last Thursday, December 22, in partnership with the Buscenter Team, on the Luanda waterfront, with the motto "Give your experience a new life".

This initiative intends to "enhance intergenerational actions as a means of encouraging the sharing of knowledge, experiences, skills and competences in the technical, behavioral and citizenship domains in areas such as education, health, mentoring, environment, culture, among others".

Quoted in the note, Ana Dias Lourenço said that to close this year they thought they should show the 'Machimbombo Dikota'."(...) To close the year 2022 we think we should show the Machimbombo Dikota, and therefore, there is the machimbombo. It has some valences, but unfortunately it is still not what we intended because it is small", she informed.

The first lady also referred that the "configuration and capacity of the bus" still prevent it from "having an interurban character and leaving the city", but said she believed that "state and private partners" would help to constitute, at least, more two vehicles.

The 'Machimbombo Dikota' is oriented towards "lifelong learning and counseling for the active aging of seniors, as well as promoting inclusion, social and professional integration of younger people, to boost their development and personal growth", read in the note.

"What we want on these buses is, in a first phase, to try to mobilize the dikotas through the bus and register in the Dikota Platform, and then also be able to do some training and transmit their teachings", referred.

At the same time as the launch, the registration of "Dikotas in the Senior Panel took place on the www.dikota.ao portal, where people can register to participate in future activities, share their experiences, value knowledge, have a more active and integrated in the community, preventing loneliness and inactivity", with the first lady setting the example and seizing the opportunity to register.

According to the statement, the 'Machimbombo Dikota' was launched as part of the second anniversary of the Dikota E_6.0 platform, promoted by the Ngana Zenza Foundation for Community Development and which has Ana Dias Lourenço as patron.

"The project has as partners the government of Angola, through the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Public Administration, Work and Social Security (MAPTSS), CINFOTEC, INEFOP and, from the private sector, Unitel", completes the statement.
