Ana Dias Lourenço launched Ngana Zenza Foundation focused on community development

A clinical carriage, a platform for valuing the elderly and an integrated community program are the three pilot projects of the Ngana Zenza Foundation, sponsored by the first lady, Ana Dias Lourenço, who this Saturday presented the initiative in Luanda.

The Ngana Zenza Foundation, an expression in Kimbundu that means Lady Isabel, in honor of Ana Dias Lourenço's mother, was established in 2020 and presented this Saturday at a gala on the island of Luanda, which was attended by hundreds of guests, including the President, João Lourenço, Vice President Bornito de Sousa, President of the National Assembly, Fernando Piedade dos Santos, and the First Ladies of Ghana and Cape Verde, as well as former First Lady Ana Paula dos Santos.

The objective, expressed the president of the Foundation, is to promote community development with a view to improving the living conditions and economic empowerment of populations, especially in rural areas, and its main target is the most vulnerable groups, especially young girls, the elderly, children and people with disabilities.

"People are the reason for our existence. Therefore, we are inspired by values ​​such as social justice, inclusion, cohesion, solidarity, pluralism, commitment and innovation", highlighted Ana Dias Lourenço.

A number of pilot projects are already underway, including the Integrated Community Development Project of Toco, a poor rural village in the municipality of Lubango (Huíla province), implemented in a participatory manner.

Another outstanding project is the "Tata Uhayele" which aims to improve access to health care in the provinces of Benguela, Huambo, Bié and Moxico, putting at the service of the communities a clinical carriage in the corridor from Lobito to Luau, which will six stops of this railway line, a wide range of clinical specialties.

As for the Dikota_E 6.0 platform, it intends to value and capture experiences and promote solidarity between generations and active aging with the participation of the elderly, essentially people over 60 years old.
