According to the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, the infections notified in the last 24 hours are distributed throughout the provinces of Luanda (43), Zaire (24), Kwanza Sul (7), Huíla (3), Moxico, Benguela, Cabinda and Malanje (each with two cases).
The cases were registered in people aged between 5 and 81 years, being 46 men and 39 women.
Franco Mufinda reported that 66 people between the ages of 2 and 66 were recovered, 49 in Moxico province, five in Lunda Sul, the same number in Malanje, four in Huíla, and three in Luanda.
Angola now has a total of 16,362 positive cases, 372 deaths, 8990 recovered, and 7000 active cases, of which seven are in critical condition, five severe, 81 moderate, 137 mild, and 6770 asymptomatic.
In the treatment centers 230 patients are being followed, and the laboratories have processed 2291 samples, 85 of which were positive, representing a daily positivity rate of 3.7 percent.
"The cumulative to date points to 275,771 samples processed with 16,362 positives, referring us to a cumulative positivity rate of 5.9 percent," he said.
The ruler reported that 4307 inmates, including 4043 men and 264 women, were tested in a first phase, resulting in three new infections, which represents a positivity rate of 0.07 percent.
"We will continue with the testing activity in people deprived of freedom," said Franco Mufinda.
The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 1,621,397 deaths as a result of more than 72.7 million cases of infection worldwide, according to a balance sheet made by the French agency AFP.
The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected at the end of December 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
