In a note published on the Facebook page of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT), the SIC said it received an "orange" notification from Interpol, a global alert, issued to its 194 member countries, including Angola, recommending that they prepare "for the attacks by organized crime networks that will soon act on vaccines against covid-19.

The SIC and health authorities will therefore act in a coordinated manner to "ensure the safety of people and the well-being of communities in this period of pandemic.

It also advises citizens to adopt "special care in accessing the Internet network to search for medical equipment or medicines and report any suspicion of the sale of illicit drugs or false cures".

The Interpol (International Criminal Police Organization) "orange warning" refers to criminal activities such as counterfeiting, theft and illegal advertising about future covid-19 and flu vaccines, criminal behaviors that have already been detected during the pandemic period with other products, adds the SIC.

Angola registers 352 deaths and 15,361 cases of covid-19.
