This match, part of Group C, is seen by coach Pep Clarós as decisive, as a victory for Guinea will see them take the lead in the group.
The national team coach considered it a tough match, considering Guinea's competitive level, which boasts four high-level players who play in Europe and the NBA.
Clarós also spoke about the reduced rest period, as Angola played late in the day on Tuesday, while Guinea played early in the afternoon.
Quoted by Angop, the coach added that the team's plans are to "move around a bit" and stretch, "otherwise their legs won't work."
Archer Mangueira, governor of Namibe – the province where the national team is currently playing, having played its opening match in Luanda – acknowledged that the match against Guinea is a cause for concern, considering the excellent performance against South Sudan.
"We saw a good game, Guinea was better, they came to compete in this championship, and Angola has to be at the same level as any team in the competition," he stated.
The provincial governor expects to see a "good game" between Angola and the Guinean national team.
In statements to the press, cited by Angop, after Angola and Libya arrived in Moçâmedes, Archer Mangueira highlighted Angola's victory in the first game. "It was important to start well in the first four minutes, which were very pressing, and then the team regrouped and played a game that all Angolans were looking forward to, and they won," he said.
After arriving in Moçâmedes, Angola held a light training session at the Welwitschia Mirabilis pavilion.
In addition to the Angola-Guinea match, three other matches are also scheduled for this Thursday: Uganda-Mali (2:00 pm), Libya-South Sudan (4:00 pm), and Egypt-Senegal (5:30 pm).
The Angola match will once again be the last of the day, scheduled for 7:00 pm.
According to Angop, the Namibe pavilion will be packed, as tickets are sold out.
Angola is in Group C, along with Guinea, South Sudan, and Libya. Angola and Guinea have the same number of points (two each), as they won their respective first matches.
