This transport, according to the official, will be done through four flights per day. Thus, for the first day of flights at the aforementioned airport, that is, on the 10th of this month, four round-trip flights are scheduled for the province of Cabinda, between 8am and 11pm, to be operated by a Dash 8,400 plane, writes Angop.
The Secretary of State, who was speaking to the press as part of the President of the Republic's visit to the works on the access to the new airport, informed that TAAG is ready to start operating flights between Luanda and Cabinda, from the 10th, at AIAAN, having also highlighted the check-in and baggage management service among the other conditions already created.
With regard to accessibility to the new airport, Rui Carreira explained that this access can be done by train, bus and other forms of transport within the airport area, regardless of the passengers' embarkation or disembarkation time.
For now, only flights to Cabinda will be operated, however, TAAG will progressively include other routes in its schedule. The next step is in December with the integration of routes from the Eastern region – Dundo, Saurimo and Luena – and Soyo into the flight plan from Agostinho Neto airport.
One year after opening (inauguration took place on November 10, 2023), the new airport will begin to receive passenger flights. The process of transferring domestic and international flights, which begins next Sunday, will be gradual and should be completed by March 31st of next year.
Thus, the Secretary of State, cited by Angop, said that international flights will only be operated in March next year, with the inclusion of other companies.
