The motion was unanimously approved with 243 votes from those present, according to the final communiqué that summarizes the conclusions of the II Ordinary Meeting of the UNITA Political Commission, which took place on Friday and Saturday.

In the conclusions, UNITA highlights that, after holding its XIII Ordinary Congress (which elected Adalberto da Costa Júnior), "it experienced a situation of permanent political attack by the regime with recourse to the entire state apparatus", congratulating its members for, "despite the adversities", they managed to remain united.

UNITA promises to "work hard" to hold municipal elections in 2023 and in all municipalities, and approved as the Party's motto for the coming year: "2023 - Year of Defense of Participatory Democracy for Sustainable Development".

In the statement, the "Black Rooster" party blames the Angolan executive led by the MPLA for the "miserable situation" of a large part of the Angolan population and sympathizes with the struggle of various classes of workers (teachers, doctors, nurses, TAAG professionals), which has been carrying out strikes in recent months.

It also criticizes the lack of political will to create "policies in favor of work and the unemployed" and demands adequate measures for the more than three million children who are out of the education system.

The party also denounces the political persecution that has been carried out by the regime through public institutions "against several citizens who, in the exercise of their citizenship rights, during the recent elections participated in activities in favor of the alternation of power".

The statement also says that the Angolan executive has appropriated the Kwenda program partially financed by the World Bank, aimed at combating poverty "and which shamefully served to buy votes in the last elections".

In international terms, UNITA supports the efforts of the international community to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases in a way and calls for peace negotiations between the warring parties to the conflicts in Tigray and the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as negotiations direct exchanges between Russia and Ukraine, supported by the international community.
