"We are a developing country. We have to be open to these partnerships so that we can (...) be also, in the future, a developed country," said the head of state, after visiting Aker Solutions, directed to the manufacture of equipment for the mineral, oil and gas industry.
João Lourenço stated that Angola intends to deepen the transfer of knowledge and technologies with the Norwegians, favoring national companies that operate in these sectors and training for Angolans.
Under the framework of cooperation, the head of state also visited the Equinor oil company (formerly Statoil), where he met with the direction of this multinational. Operating in the country since 1991, the company has a corporate participation in several oil blocks located in Angolan territory.
In this regard, the Minister of Natural Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo - also in Oslo, Norway - said that the oil company expressed interest in collaborating in the Sonangol Research and Development Center, whose first phase of operation started in May . "It is an important partnership and should continue," said Diamantino Azevedo.
On the last day of work in the capital of Norway, João Lourenço met with the country's prime minister, Jonas Gahr Store, with whom he approached the state of bilateral relations.
He also maintained a meeting with King Harald, having recorded in the royal palace book that "the achievements achieved in the economic, technical-scientific, political and social plan by the Norway kingdom make the country a valuable partner, with which the Republic of Angola intends to explore the full potential between them, so that mutually advantageous bilateral cooperation intensifies and increasingly robbed, for the benefit of the progress of the two peoples. "
Later this Friday, João Lourenço had the opportunity to visit the Fram Museum, which collects testimonies from the secular connection of the Norwegian people to the exploration of the seas.
