With this measure, the Executive aims to raise funds to ensure the maintenance and conservation of road infrastructure.
Henriques Vitorino, deputy director general of the Angolan Roads Institute (INEA), said, quoted by Expansão, that the posts should be installed between October of this year and March of next year.
Although he did not reveal the amount the government will spend on building the posts, Henriques Vitorino said that the project's execution phase is underway in accordance with the terms of reference to hire a consulting company to proceed with the executive project and, subsequently, a public tender to assign construction and supervision of the work to competent companies.
The responsible also made it known that the projects will be executed in two phases. The first one is related to the implantation of the toll stations and the delivery of its management to the Road Works and Emergencies Fund (FROE). The second phase concerns the provision of equipment and systems for the stations to become operational.
In an initial phase, besides the toll that already exists in Luanda, in Barra do Kwanza, posts will be installed at the borders of five provinces: Cabinda-Massabi and Iema, Zaire-Nóqui and Luvo, Moxico-Luau and Cunene-Santa Clara.
