According to a statement from the government of the province of Cuanza Norte, this Wednesday, the Minister of Health, Sílvia Lutucuta, visited the works of the future hospital, having stated on the occasion that the project "already has 98 percent of the works completed and will be ready in the first week of November".
Accompanying the governor of Cuanza Norte, João Diogo Gaspar, the holder of the Health portfolio "found that the latest technical adjustments, such as the assembly of oxygen equipment and the technical network, are in the final phase and are progressing at a good pace", reads the note.
This new hospital will bring "highly complex services never seen before in the region, such as hemodialysis, imaging with different capabilities, and an intensive care unit that will care for newborns to adults."
Among the features of the future hospital also stands out a pathological anatomy laboratory, "a small forensic institute with body conservation services and its own oxygen factory, capable of serving other hospital units".
With the support of national and expatriate doctors, the hospital will receive 18 doctors "trained abroad, in addition to other professionals in the specialization phase", points out the note, which adds that "due to its capabilities, more than a health care center, this new infrastructure will also be a true research and training center, reaffirming the Angolan Executive's commitment to innovation and the advancement of medical services".
Speaking as part of the verification visit, the Minister of Health highlighted the hospital's services: "We have a third-level national reference hospital here, which will provide highly complex medical-surgical services."
"We will have a hemodialysis service here that the province has never had, an imaging service with various capabilities, an intensive care unit from newborns to adults, we will have a pathological anatomy laboratory or we will have a small forensic institute with the body conservation part, autopsy and the pathological anatomy part, we will have services, a very welcoming environment with conditions to provide humanized services and better accommodation for patients and their families", pointed out Sílvia Lutucuta, quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).
The future hospital will have 200 beds.
