According to a statement from the Ministry of Transport, to which VerAngola had access, the initiative is expected to deliver social passes to the 4500 students who are registered in the system.

"After preliminary procedures, which followed the official launch of the pass in the province of Huíla, the province of Luanda will witness, from the 12th of this month, the mass issuance and delivery of social passes to the 4500 students who are registered in the system", reads the note.

Luanda will be "the first in which social passes for the student category will begin to be issued", informs the guardianship. Therefore, in the capital, the cards will be issued at school no. 4072 (Instituto Politécnico de Cacuaco), in the municipality of Cacuaco, at school no. 3119 (Instituto Técnico de Saúde do Kalawenda), in the municipality of Cazenga, at school no. 5143 (Vida Pacífica), in the municipality of Viana and at the Juventude em Luta school, in the municipality of Luanda, adds the note.

In turn, in Huíla, "social passes for the student category will begin to be issued on the 17th of that month. In the municipality of Lubango, five school institutions were selected, namely School Complex no. 1,828 (Eiva/Arimba), College no. 852 (November 11), College no. 110 (27 March), College 1.320 (14 April/Lubango) and School of Educational Inclusion (15 June)", reads the statement.

With the aforementioned pass, the student will be "entitled to 60 free trips per month, on the way from home to school and vice versa", while for other trips, students "must top up the regular pass with sufficient credit for these trips, being able to use the same card (GiraMais) for this purpose".

It should be noted that the student social pass will benefit public school students aged between 6 and 15, enrolled up to ninth grade. This pass, the note adds, was launched last August by ENBI, "and the first social pass was delivered by the Minister of Education, Luísa Grilo, in the province of Huíla".

Requirements for issuing the pass

Regarding the requirements for issuing the pass, the guardianship informs that interested parents or guardians need to gather the identity card of the guardian, the identity card or card of the beneficiary student, a passport-sized photograph of the student, as well as 1000 kwanzas (500 kwanzas for the form and 500 kwanzas for the issuance fee).
