DSTR gave 60 days to obtain a driving license and warns that anyone who fails to do so will pay a fine

There are almost 70 thousand driving licenses that are at the Traffic and Road Safety Department (DTSR) waiting to be collected. According to Elias Dumbo Livulu, director of Traffic and Road Safety, it was decided to set a period of 60 days for citizens to collect the document, warning that they may be subject to paying a fine.

"We are now going to issue a circular (...) and we have given 60 days for those who have not collected their document until now, then they will now pay the current price", warned the person in charge, when speaking at the tenth edition of 'Café CIPRA' , which took place this Thursday.

Elias Dumbo Livulu complained that they realized that there was "a lack of will", making it known that they currently have almost 70 thousand letters to collect.

"We realized that there was a lack of will (...). Today we have almost 70,000 letters, we have already done the entire exercise, whether publicizing it on our page, we even went to the CISP to call people", he said, adding: "Perhaps in the past we also had some vulnerability in the system and we also realized that many of the letters that were still with us, people already had others, so we were left with that liability."

Among other aspects, the person in charge also mentioned that they are not extending entries: "We have not been extending entries for a while now. The first measure we took to avoid this is no extension because we have documents to provide and the entry has the time limit, it is 90 days, if there is an extension stamp, that stamp is illegal. We are not extending it because there is enough capacity to print the letter", he stated, cited by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).

It should be noted that this edition of 'Café CIPRA' had as its theme the "Impact of Simplifica on citizens' lives".
