Angola now charges 31,850 kwanzas per test to covid-19 post-disembarkation

The country is going to charge 31,850 kwanzas for the post-disembarkation tests required for passengers coming from abroad, according to an executive decree from the Ministries of Finance, Transport and Health.

Until now, the rapid post-disembarkation tests carried out at the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, which have been mandatory since 16 January, have been free of charge, and now cost 31,850 kwanzas (46 euros).

The co-payment amount will be paid upon purchase of the ticket, through a "sanitary fee" to be paid in kwanzas for tickets issued in Angola or in dollars for tickets issued outside Angola.
Airlines will have to deposit the amount collected in the Single Payment Reference to the State (RUPE) within 30 days, on a monthly basis, with the proceeds being subsequently attributed to the Ministry of Health (62.7 percent) and Ministry of Transport ( 37.21 percent).

The diploma states that the National Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC) will notify IATA (International Air Transport Association) to introduce the "Sanitary Fee" code to be charged in the sales system used by airlines in the operation to Angola.

Angola also requires an RT-PCR test with negative result and vaccination certificate upon arrival in the country.

The diploma states that the test to be applied will be the Panbio Covid-19 AG. This test, manufactured by Abbott Laboratories, has a recommended value of three dollars, according to the tables of the Supply Division of UNICEF, the central warehouse of the United Nations organization where vital items such as vaccines, therapeutic foods, blankets and other articles.
