The measure, which comes into effect this Thursday, is contained in the Presidential Decree that institutes the Situation of Public Disaster in the country - in force since May 26 - due to the proliferation of the covid-19.
So far, taxis, buses and trains in the capital have been limited to 50 percent of their capacity. However, this increase to 75 percent will have the main objective of facilitating mobility for students, who return to classes at the beginning of next week.
Despite being a contingency measure, the limitation in public transport has generated agglomerations at stops, increasing the risk of contamination. To combat this situation, the Minister of Transport, Ricardo de Abreu, has already announced a reinforcement of 150 new buses in Luanda.
In the remaining sectors, the measures adopted until now remain: the public function in Luanda remains with 50 percent of the workforce, while in the provinces it has 75 percent of the workforce, says Angop.
Restaurants and canteens can remain open until 10:30 pm, with reduced capacity. The same applies to hotel establishments and commercial activity.
