Angola keeps beaches closed and resumes shows at 50 percent

The government announced this Wednesday that the beaches and bathing areas in Angola will remain banned at least until November 7, while the shows will resume gradually and with limited capacity.

The announcement was made by the Minister of State and Head of the Civil House of the President of the Republic, Adão de Almeida, who presented the new rules of the situation of calamity that will be in effect from Friday and for another 30 days.

According to Adão de Almeida, beaches, pools and marinas, which were expected to reopen from October 15, will continue to be closed, and a new reassessment will be made on November 7.

Cultural activities and shows can start gradually from Friday, with limited hours until 10pm, initially conditioned to no more than 50 percent of the room and with no more than 150 people present, with seating.

Religious activities are also possible in Luanda up to four days a week, which was already applied in the other provinces.

The minister also announced that the proceeds of the fines are destined for the provincial governments and are applied only to expenses related to prevention and combating covid-19.
