A note from the Ministry of Health informs that the governor, who traveled Tuesday to that southern province, to verify the damage caused by the fire at the General Hospital of Ondjiva, capital of Cunene, lamented the death of a seriously ill patient and a newborn -born, who needed special care.
The fire registered on Monday night, affected the areas of the operating room, surgical wards and the oxygen storage station.
Sílvia Lutucuta said that there was a need to transfer patients to other hospital units in the area, noting that a front-line team mobilized to avoid the worst with other patients.
All patients were transferred to various health centers and for better care they will be placed in the new Municipal Hospital of Cuanhama, which is in the final stages of construction.
