The figures were advanced by the coordinator for the technical area of the Privatization Program, Osvaldo João, after a meeting of the Interministerial Commission. The official said that six of the total of the 13 industrial units have already been effectively awarded, followed by another five in the coming days.

The commission was also informed about the results of the public tender regarding the allocation of the right to explore and manage three textile units located in the provinces of Benguela, Luanda and Cuanza Norte.

The award, in the amount of 264 billion kwanzas, includes the payment of fixed or variable annual rents based on revenues, and the exercise of the right to purchase, says Angop.

Africa Têxtil (Benguela) and Comandante Bula (Cuanza Norte) were both awarded to the company Baobab Coton Group, while Textang II (Luanda) was awarded to the IEP group.

Regarding Sonangol's privatization process, it is known that 25 public tenders were launched, two of which have already been awarded and generated a revenue of more than 20 million dollars.

A plan on the next privatization processes was also submitted to the commission for approval.

The commission also examined the proposed strategies for the sale, through the Angola Stock Exchange, of the State's holdings in Mota Engil, Multitel, TV Cabo and Sonangalp.
