The announcement was made in the National Assembly, during the speech about the State of the Nation that marks the opening of the parliamentary year in the country.
According to João Lourenço, between October 2019 and August 2020, more than 1550 ex-military personnel were reintegrated, some through the Integrated Program for Local Development and Fight against Poverty and others through the Government's Program for Strengthening Integration, but not all benefit from the same conditions.
"We condemn the attitude of politicians and political groupings who deceptively promise ex-military personnel their insertion in the Armed Forces Social Security Fund, a right reserved exclusively for officers in the condition of retirees, a process that obeys very well defined rules by law," he declared.
João Lourenço said that the executive will finance the acquisition of 500 tractors of national production through the FADA (Agricultural Development Support Fund) to benefit ex-military organized in cooperatives.
The executive is also training more than 250 ex-military personnel to "double the protection capacity of our biodiversity and its habitats".
The head of the Government underlined that the agriculture, fishing and forestry sector represents, "in the framework of the diversification of the economy, a preponderant role in the fight against hunger, in the guarantee of food and nutritional security of the population, in the reduction of poverty and unemployment, both in the rural and urban environments, through the commercialization of the products of the countryside".
The intention is to invert the proportion of manual agriculture, which represents about 72 percent of the total cultivated areas, to a more industrialized activity, having announced that 990 tractors and their implements were acquired, which allowed the creation of 89 private agricultural mechanization brigades and 15 rural mechanization and engineering brigades.
