The Privatization Program (ProPriv), which began in 2019, allowed the privatization of 109 companies and/or state assets, six of which were already privatized in 2024, said the spokesperson for the Interministerial Commission, Otoniel dos Santos, this Friday.
Speaking at the end of the fourth meeting of this commission, Santos reported that, of the total amount contracted, 22 billion kwanzas are yet to be received and 1 percent of these installments have already passed the payment deadline.
The National Insurance Company of Angola (ENSA), the Angolan Debt and Securities Exchange (BODIVA) and the State's shares in Standard Bank are expected to be privatised on the stock exchange by December 2024.
The prospectus for the privatisation of ENSA has already been submitted for consideration and approval by the Capital Market Commission (CMC), with the launch of the offer and its settlement on the stock exchange scheduled for 15 September and the second half of October, respectively.
The BODIVA will be privatised next, the provisional registration process for which has already been submitted to the CMC, with the offer being launched in the first half of October and its completion or settlement at the beginning of November, the official said.
Otoniel dos Santos, also Secretary of State for Finance and Treasury, also said that the privatisation on the stock exchange of the State's shares in Standard Bank is expected to take place between November and December next year and that the negotiation process with the shareholder Standard Bank Group is currently underway to enable the placement of the percentage.
ProPriv includes the privatization of assets in the industry, commerce, banking, insurance, telecommunications, aviation, oil, agriculture and other sectors.
