Paralympic Games: Juliana Moko is the 8th fastest athlete in the world

The participation of the Angolan Juliana Moko in the Paralympic Games came, this Friday, to an end. The athlete managed to qualify as the eighth fastest athlete in the world, after reaching a mark of 27 seconds and 12 tenths in the semi-finals of the 200 meters.

It was in the 200 meters track, that the sprinter achieved this classification. Juliana Moko obtained a time of 27.12 in the semi-finals, writes Angop.

The athlete ran in the second of the two competing series, and her series was won by Brazilian Simplício da Silva (24 seconds and 98 tenths).

According to Angop, in the eliminatory phase the Angolan managed to overcome her own mark (29.12), having run the race in 27.27.

Besides Juliana Moko, the athlete Manuel Jaime also represented the colors of Angola in the Paralympic Games. Competing in the 1500 meters, the athlete failed to pass the preliminaries.

The competition is being held in Tokyo, Japan. According to Angop, the national delegation will leave the Asian country on Sunday.
