According to Angop, the Angolan woman was drawn in the first of four series. In the 400 meters, Juliana Moko will compete against Perez Lopes (Venezuela), Baldera Melissa (Peru) and Santos Karol (Brazil).
The winners of each qualifying series will qualify for the semi-finals, which will also take place on Friday.
However, the athletes who cut the ribbon in second place will still have a chance to compete in the next round: the second fastest athletes will be retrieved to run in the semi-final, with a total of eight athletes fighting for a place in the final.
On Saturday, it is the turn of Angola's Manuel Jaime to take to the track, in the 1500-meter specialty.
The games are being held in Tokyo, Japan.
