The Heroes of Blue, in partnership with the NGO VIS (International Volunteering for Development) and the Volunteer Portal held the II Volunteer and Young Citizenship Forum.

:

The culture of Volunteering and Citizenship at School and University, to increase interest and knowledge in young people, was the theme of the second edition of the event which also had as one of its objectives to bring literacy to the Law of Volunteering.

The NGO VIS - International Volunteerism for Development and the Salesians of Don Bosco, associated themselves to the Portal of the Volunteer and to the Heroes of Blue, in the scope of the Project "The Future in our Hands", with the aim of promoting Youth Volunteering as a tool to promote youth participation, citizenship and to add influence and progress to current youth policies.

According to Jelson Gaieta, the forum aims to give space and ears to the opinions of young people, Angolan associations and the concerns that affect the youth in Angola. The event takes place in a hybrid format with the objective of connecting the largest number of participants and in this way ensure a greater dissemination of existing programs and challenges.

"We want to contribute to the interaction of youth with the areas of volunteering, appealing to a greater participation of young people in the exercise of citizenship. We also intend to share proposals from young people that are under development, share schedules and activities of volunteering as a tool for active participation based on the experiences of the organizations participating in the Forums".

The initiative aims to continue to foster dialogue and sharing between organizations and groups of volunteering and active citizenship. The event aims, among other objectives, to give space for the voice and opinions of young people and Angolan associations on active participation, citizenship and the concerns that affect this social nucleus.
