The holder of the Economy and Planning portfolio, who was speaking at the end of a meeting of the Economic Commission of the Council of Ministers, also made it known that this is not the only project that the Government wants to put into practice.
Sérgio Santos, quoted by Angop, said that several social and economic projects are being studied. Among the government's list of ambitious projects is the construction of a road project that will link Cabinda to Zaire. This project had already been announced a few years ago, but has never been mentioned again.
In addition, it is also planned to connect the Luanda railroad to the Léua region in Moxico for the Democratic Republic of Congo. Still in the road sector, the executive plans to connect Moçâmedes, in Namibe, to Vitoria Falls, in Zimbabwe.
In the energy sector, the Executive wants to advance with the construction, exploration and hydroelectric exploitation of the international section of the Cunene River, as well as advance with the hydroelectric exploitation of Chicapa II, with the aim of supplying energy to mining operations.
It also foresees the construction of a new bridge over the Kwanza River to bring water to Cabinda and Luanda.
The upgrading of the Munlevos landfill, in the capital, the development and exploitation of the Cabo-Ledo and Okavango Tourist Development Poles, the construction of logistics platforms in the areas of Caála, Huambo, Lombe, Malanje, Luvo and Soyo, Zaire, are also part of the executive's plans, said the governor.
The projects are to be built within the framework of private-public partnerships. According to Sérgio Santos, the government is preparing to award several projects to several national and foreign companies by next year.
The minister also considered that these partnerships will help stimulate and develop the country's economy.
