"In order to encourage trade, business development and mobility between Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), as well as, in response to market demand indicators, TAAG Linhas Aéreas de Angola will provide an additional frequency on the connection Luanda-Kinshasa, from August 14", informs TAAG, in a statement sent to VerAngola.
Thus, according to the company, this route will now have four weekly flights. "The Kinshasa route will now have four weekly flights, departing from Luanda on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, operated by a DASH-8 model aircraft, with the capacity to carry 74 passengers, 64 of which in economy class and 10 in executive class", reads the statement.
TAAG also mentions that, coincidentally, "the reinforcement of Angola's regional connection, in this specific case with" the DRC, appears at a time when the 1st Angola-DRC Economic Forum is taking place in Kinshasa, with the motto 'Economic Partnerships towards mutual growth', "which brings together representatives of the Government of both countries, investment promotion entities, business fabric, among other participants".
The country shares an "extensive land border with the DRC", as well as "a significant flow of bilateral trade", says the note, which adds that the two countries "develop strong cooperation", and are integrated in regional organizations, such as the Southern African Development Community (SADC), the Economic Community of Central African States (CEEAC), the Gulf of Guinea Commission (CGG) and the International Conference of the Great Lakes Region (ICRGL).
"TAAG thus marks its commitment to continue to provide more and more connectivity and convenience services to the customer, positioning Angola as an important hub in regional and international connections", completes the company.
