The legal instruments were signed in the presence of the Presidents of Angola, João Lourenço, and of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who is on his first day of State visit to Angola this Friday.
Among these is an agreement on the exercise of remunerated professional activities by accredited personnel in embassies and consular offices.
This agreement signed between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, and of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, Mauro Vieira, aims to allow dependents of the diplomatic, consular, military and administrative staff to carry out remunerated activities, based on reciprocity.
Téte António and Mauro Vieira also signed a memorandum of understanding for the development of sustainable tourism aimed at developing the sector "to the mutual benefit of both countries".
An agreement was also signed to "improve the assistance provided to patients in the Angolan health system with regard to early detection and treatment of leprosy" (leprosy) and a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Angola and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil for the development of agricultural and livestock systems.
The delegations also signed an instrument called "Projecto Escola para Todos", which aims to cooperate with the National Institute for Special Education in Angola, a memorandum of understanding for the promotion of micro, small and medium-sized companies and another memorandum between the Private Investments and Export Promotion of Angola and the Brazilian Export Promotion Agency.
"This memorandum aims to strengthen trade relations between Angola and Brazil, in addition to promoting both countries in third-party markets", refers in a note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs distributed on the occasion.
Angola and Brazil maintain a bilateral relationship of almost fifty years and a strategic partnership signed in 2010.
Brazil was the first country to recognize the independence of the Republic of Angola, achieved on November 11, 1975.
