Speaking on the occasion of the 1st Angola-Brazil Economic Forum, which takes place this Friday in Luanda, as part of the visit to Angola by the Brazilian President, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Lello Francisco invited Brazilian companies to invest and form partnerships with Angola , underlining the desire to attract and boost investment for local chicken and pork production, throughout its value chain.
The official said that bilateral trade between Angola and Brazil has grown over the years, recalling that the African country is open to investment, and invited Brazilian businessmen to invest in all sectors and contribute to the diversification of the Angolan economy.
"The Angolan economy offers opportunities in segments in which Brazil has enormous capabilities", said the president of AIPEX, stressing that Angola annually imports food goods worth around 2 billion dollars, with a significant weight for protein animal.
"This forum is, for us, without a doubt, a platform that will allow the exchange of experiences between the business sectors of the two countries, develop synergies, to attract business, and we sincerely hope that it will contribute for Brazilian companies to deepen their knowledge of the Angolan market and in the very near future invest in the potential of the Angolan economy", he added.
The president of the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), Jorge Viana, welcomed the resumption of presidential diplomacy in Brazil, which he considered "essential" for cooperation, "regrettably" suspended a few years ago. Jorge Viana addressed the close to 400 participants in the 1st Angola-Brazil Economic Forum.
"Presidential diplomacy, it is essential, it is what makes things happen and Brazil, unfortunately, was a few years ago without this diplomacy and without the presence of the head of state coming here, embracing, defending the interests of our country , but defending the interests of a sister country such as Angola, so that things happen. That's what President Lula came here to do", said Jorge Viana.
The official, for the first time in Angola, stressed that "perhaps no one in Brazil has more willingness, more determination, to make the rapprochement between Brazil and that continent, especially Angola, happen".
