In turn, federal deputy Reginete Bispo, from the Workers' Party (PT), an activist from the Movement of Black Brazilian Women, said that the delegation is 99 percent composed of black parliamentarians, highlighting the female representation in the Angolan parliament, with 38 percent , leaving Brazil still far behind the African country, with 18 percent of women.

"We also dealt with an important issue, which is the fight against domestic violence, to exchange experiences, in Brazil we have been developing important policies, but violence against women is still very strong, feminicides are very high", he said.

On the Angolan side, Manuel Augusto said that the importance of the meeting goes beyond relations between Angola and Brazil, as both are members of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), stressing that they reviewed the political, economic and social situation in each of the countries.

"But above all, we also discussed ways to strengthen relations between the MPLA parliamentary group, the National Assembly and the deputies of the Brazilian congress. It was a very fruitful exchange of views and we established some programs to be implemented as soon as possible", he said.

Manuel Augusto stressed that Angola will host the executive secretariat of the CPLP Parliamentary Assembly, which is why the Angolan delegation was made up of the leadership of the MPLA parliamentary group, who had the opportunity to discuss with their Brazilian counterparts "practical ways to leave the discourse and move to action in parliamentary cooperation".
