With this result, South Korea and Angola ended the group tied with three points, with the Asians having the advantage in goal difference and staying provisionally in fourth place, the last one that gives access to the quarterfinals.

To confirm the qualification, South Korea needs Japan to be defeated this Monday by Norway, bronze medalists in Rio2016 and a team that has already confirmed the first place in Group A, with victories in the four games played.

After the victory over the Japanese team (28-25), Angola reached the last round with real aspirations of reaching the next round and even went to halftime winning the South Korean rival, by 17-16.

In the second half, the match remained very balanced, with neither team managing to escape in the lead of the scoreboard, and everything ended in a draw, a result that leaves the Angolan women definitely out of the tournament.

In the fifth and decisive round of the group stage, highlight goes to France, silver medalists in the last edition of the Olympic Games, which needs to beat Brazil to escape a surprising elimination in Group B, and for the presence of the Portuguese refereeing duo Ricardo Fonseca and Duarte Santos in the Netherlands-Montenegro.
