China is negotiating with Angola to send a sixth medical team to the country, under a cooperation and development support program, said the Chinese ambassador in the country, Gong Tao.

China has already sent five medical teams to Angola, and the fifth team, with a dozen doctors, is currently working at the Luanda General Hospital since September 2019, Gong Tao said, estimating that the services will benefit 110,000 Angolan users in two years.

"The two parties, at this moment, are negotiating the sending of the sixth medical team to Angola," said Gong Tao, noting that these medical services have been fundamental in the period of the covid-19 pandemic.

Since the first signing of the protocol, negotiated and renewed every two years, 70 Chinese specialists have already provided medical services in Angola.

"China and Angola are good brothers and good partners," said the diplomat, adding that China has always offered assistance and help to African countries, such as Angola, within its possibilities.

Gong Tao also highlighted the assistance given by the Chinese government in the fight against covid-19, which included the donation of 200 thousand doses of the Chinese vaccine from Sinopharm and support in the construction of laboratories for testing.

In addition, the Chinese companies and community present in Angola made donations of biosafety materials and other equipment totaling 200 million kwanzas.
