In total, the country has diagnosed 1762 infections, of which 80 have resulted in deaths, 577 have recovered and 1105 are in an active phase of the disease, of which five are critical and 21 severe.

The Secretary of State also reported that an epidemiological study was carried out on the 100 cases reported on Sunday, 9 August, which concluded that 30 are oil workers rotating the platforms of Block 3.

According to him, public health measures have been taken with screening and testing, and those infected are already in Luanda receiving medical care, and the contacts of these people are being followed up.

In the next 48 hours the withdrawal of workers from the platforms should be completed.

"We are taking measures to disinfect by areas and replace the affected team," Mufinda added.

The covid-19 pandemic has already claimed more than 743,000 lives and infected more than 20.3 million people in 196 countries and territories, according to a report by French agency AFP.

In Africa, there are 23,616 confirmed deaths in more than a million people in 55 countries, according to the latest pandemic statistics on the continent.
