Filda has the potential to reach 2000 exhibitors, considers AIA

The president of the Industrial Association of Angola (AIA), José Severino, considered that the Luanda International Fair (Filda) – which started this Tuesday with 1302 exhibitors and, on its first day, registered more than 12.000 people – has potential to reach 2000 exhibitors.

José Severino, speaking to Angop, considered that since the event is growing, showing a growth of around 50 percent, this should motivate a combination of efforts from other institutions, both public and private, in the sense of becoming a bigger event.

Thus, he said that it must "be an activity" that brings together the "will of many sectors".

"It has to be an activity that brings together the will of many sectors. Transport sector to bring businessmen from other provinces who come in the morning and return at night. There must be buses, tourism (...), because the potential is for reach 2000 exhibitors", said the official, quoted by Angop.

For the person in charge, tents can be created, and "no one can be left out as happened in this edition".

"The effort of the Ministry of Economy and Planning and the company Arena Eventos is great. Today we have a fair of great quality, good organization, but we need to grow to be the second largest fair in Africa, surpassing the eighth or ninth position in which we find ourselves", said the official, who, quoted by Angop, added: "We need to reach the 39 or 40 countries participating in this event and at least two thousand exhibitors".

Filda started this Tuesday, July 18th, in the Special Economic Zone. Cited by Jornal de Angola, Bruno Albernaz, chairman of the Board of Directors of Grupo Arena – organizer of the fair – made it known that on this first day 12.458 people had registered.
