Tescoma Portugal, a company producing kitchen utensils, is present at Filda for the first time and, as its commercial director, Guilherme Lopes, told Lusa, is looking for new partners, new businesses and greater penetration in the Angolan market.

With a 'stand' adorned with various kitchen utensils, including cutlery, plates and pans, the official noted that the company has a range of around 2700 items, supplied in Angola via its partners.

"We expect to come looking for new business, we are waiting for them to visit us, contact us and according to the contacts we have we will draw up a new strategy for the Angolan market", he said.

Selling products directly in the African country, via supermarkets, specialized stores, "either through a new distribution" in Angola, is also one of the purposes of Tescoma Portugal, which aims for "growth and more quality".

Guilherme Lopes believes that his company has growth potential in Angola as it has a market in need of kitchen utensils.

"What we see is that there is indeed an opportunity, we have growth potential because we think that the country is still a little lacking in what kitchen utensils are on offer and, therefore, we came here and we think that we will be able to add value to the partners we have here", finished.

Among the Portuguese companies participating in Filda 2023, which runs until next Saturday, is also Lacto Serra, which in that exhibition hall presents cow, sheep and mixed cheeses that make up its production range.

With a turnover of around 60,000 euros, Lacto Serra is present at Filda to "conquer new customers, consolidate existing ones and, with that, expand the business".

"The experience has been positive, with each order we have a greater flow of orders and this value that I told you about has been in constant growth, I think that we can have a constant substantial growth here", Miguel Espírito Santo, commercial director of Lacto Serra, told Lusa.

For the Portuguese businessman, who in the space where Portuguese companies are concentrated exhibits a wide range of cheeses, the Angolan market is one of "opportunities", despite expressing "fears" in view of the country's current economic context.

Regarding Angola's current macroeconomic scenario, marked by the devaluation of the kwanza and the shortage of foreign exchange, Miguel Espírito Santo said that the issue "came up a few months ago" and he hopes that it will not have an impact on the flow of exports to Angola.

"We look at this with some fear that it will have an impact on the reduction of purchases, but we are also here to try to counteract this and make our business grow", concluded the Portuguese investor.

"Digital Economy – The new frontier of the world economy" is the motto of the 38th edition of Filda 2023, the largest business exchange in the country, inaugurated this Tuesday by the President, João Lourenço, with the participation of 22 Portuguese companies from different sectors.
