In a statement that VerAngola had access to, the government announced that it "authorized an investment of 14.7 billion kwanzas for the recovery and operationalization of the Humbe-Quiteve Livestock Management Rehabilitation Project, in the municipality of Humbe, Cunene province."
According to presidential order No. 191/25 of August 4, "which authorizes the expenditure and formalization of the opening of the simplified contracting procedure, based on the material criterion," the measure aims to "harness the potential of existing infrastructure, the recovery and operationalization of which is necessary and urgent, to generate jobs, increase agricultural and forestry production, and increase the income of small, medium, and large producers."
To the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, the statement states, is "delegated authority, with the power to subdelegate, to carry out decision-making and supervisory approvals, verifying the validity and legality of all acts performed within the scope of this procedure, including the execution and signing of the contract."
The order also approves the registration of this project in the 2025 State Budget/PIP, "replacing the Waku Kungo Irrigated Perimeter Rehabilitation Project (Mutumbo)."
