To be built in an 18,000 square meter space, the sanctuary – called Nossa Senhora da Muxima or Basilica of Nossa Senhora da Muxima – will have around 4,600 seats, as well as a public square capable of holding 200,000 worshippers.
The construction of a medical centre, local administration, police command, area of lots for houses, campsite, among others, are also part of the plan, writes Angop.
In addition, it also covers the construction of structures for residential and commercial building zones, as well as a power and water treatment plant.
According to Angop, in the initial phase, the project will begin to be executed in 40 of the 90 hectares that make up its implementation space.
The plans also include approximately 114,000 square meters of road, a parking lot capable of accommodating 3000 light vehicles and approximately 50,000 meters of landscape spaces.
