Filda is expected to return in the second half of this year

The Luanda International Fair (Filda) is expected to return later this year, in a face-to-face format. The Ministry of Economy and Planning announced that it is trying to reactivate the fair, in a face-to-face manner, respecting all the biosecurity norms, for the second half of this year.

Mário Caetano João, Secretary of State for the Economy, said that the government is developing strategies to publicize the event.

According to Angop, the last edition of Filda took place two years ago (July 2019), having cost about 530 million kwanzas.

The fair aims to exhibit products and services, create new partnerships, attract investments and disclose the country's economic and industrial potential.

The secretary of state, who was speaking during the Briefing of the Ministry of Economy and Planning, took the opportunity to make an assessment of last month and the prospects for this month regarding the sectorial fairs that have been held in the country: of the 154 fairs planned, 29 have already been held.

Cited by Angop, the official said that the more than two dozen fairs took place in the provinces of Luanda, Bengo, Benguela, Malanje, Uige, Moxico and Huila.

He also indicated that 40 contracts for future purchases were signed at the fairs, amounting to 390.1 million kwanzas.
