TAP and TAAG with more Angola-Portugal connecting flights announced until August

Portuguese and Angolan air carriers, TAP and TAAG, will make eight more connections between Angola and Portugal at the end of July and in August, according to diplomatic and operator sources.

:

According to information provided by the Consulate of Portugal in Luanda, TAP flights should be operated on the Luanda-Lisbon route on 29 and 31 July, at 10:45 pm, and interested parties should contact the airlines or travel agencies.

TAAG also has several flights scheduled to connect Luanda to Lisbon. According to information from travel agencies, flights will be operated on the 28th and 30th of July and on the 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th of August.

All passengers who board these flights must undergo laboratory tests to screen for covid-19 infection in advance, according to the recommendations of the Consulate of Portugal in Luanda.

"For reasons of sanitary control, all passengers on these flights are now required to present proof of laboratory testing for screening for SARS-CoV-2 infection, with a negative result, carried out in the last 72 hours before departure, under penalty of being refused entry into national territory ", indicates the Portuguese consulate.

National and foreign citizens with "residency in Portugal who do not exceptionally carry the aforementioned test, will be subjected, upon arrival in Portugal, to the test at their own expense", warns the diplomatic representation of Portugal in Luanda.

However, "foreign citizens in transit through Portugal bound for their countries are exempt from presenting proof of the covid-19 test, as long as they do not leave the international zone of the airport, unless the worsening of the epidemiological situation so determines", it adds up.

The Portuguese authorities recall that, in addition to citizens residing in the European Union and in the Schengen area, "third-country nationals traveling for professional, study, family reunion, health reasons or health reasons will also be allowed humanitarian aid, in accordance with the principle of reciprocity ".

"These cases must be validated by the Consulate General of Portugal in Luanda, by sending the request to consulado.luanda@mne.pt", says the entity.

Angola has kept all its borders closed since March 20, authorizing only cargo or humanitarian flights for the transport of foreign citizens who wish to return to their country or repatriation of Angolans.
