Luanda Railroad resumes commuter circulation with four daily trips

The Luanda Railway (CFL) will resume, on Wednesday, gradually the circulation of suburban passenger trains, with only four daily trips, against the usual 17, in second class coaches, the company announced .

:

In a statement, the company states that the circulation of trains will be between Bungo and Baia stations, with stops scheduled only at Bungo, Textang, Muceques, Estalagem, Viana and Baia stations.

Train circulation, affected by the covid-19 pandemic that the country has faced since March, starts at 06:30 am, in Viana station, ending at 18:00, says the CFL.

Following the legal provision that limits the maximum occupancy to 50 percent of the capacity of each train, the CFL established a quota of around 30 passengers, for each carriage, who can board each trip at each station.

Passengers are obliged to use masks to access stations and trains and, in compliance with the sanitary fence in Luanda, the circulation of passenger trains to the provinces of Cuanza Norte and Malanje remains suspended, where only freight trains circulate. .

The 424-kilometer CFL links the provinces of Luanda, Cuanza Norte and Malanje.
