The data released this Monday by the Secretary of State for Public Health, on the situation of the pandemic in the country, indicate that the five cases of local transmission, are asymptomatic, "and happened among friends and family, that is, in conviviality".
Franco Mufinda stressed that the four cases without epidemiological link were found in the screening for acute respiratory diseases at the Sunflower and Sacred Hope clinics.
He said work is continuing to investigate transmission chains through community serological trials of conglomerates and risk groups and screening for acute respiratory diseases in sentinel centers.
"By now we have counted 37 cases without epidemiological link," said Franco Mufinda, pointing out that epidemiological trees are being built to uncover transmission chains, linking the cases.
"We remember that the current situation of covid-19 in Angola inspires prudence from all of us, individually and collectively, so we should not back down in the mandatory compliance with the prevention measures, which are the use of the mask, frequent hand washing, physical distance, compliance with the measures contained in the decree on the situation of public calamity, the nonviolation of sanitary fences above all," he stressed.
Of the total number of positive cases, 93 patients have recovered, while local transmission has already reached 204 cases.
The covid-19 pandemic has already claimed more than 502,000 lives and infected more than 10.20 million people in 196 countries and territories, according to a report by the French agency AFP.
